Travelling with a baby can be challenging, but the Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a game-changer for parents on the go. Lightweight, compact, and easy to manoeuvre, the Babyzen Yoyo is a favourite among families who love to travel, and even more if your trip includes cities.
To make your journeys even smoother, several accessories designed specifically for the Babyzen Yoyo can enhance your travel experience. Find below the best Babyzen Yoyo accessories for travel, and remember that the official ones are not always the best and are usually the most expensive.
Babyzen Yoyo Bumper Bar
The Babyzen Yoyo Bumper Bar is a great addition for added safety and comfort. This accessory attaches easily to the stroller and provides a secure bar for your baby to hold onto during strolls. It’s also handy for hanging toys or other items to keep your baby entertained.
The bumper bar is padded for extra comfort and can be easily removed when not needed. There are many generic ones available on the market, but the key feature is -besides fitting properly- that the pram can still be folded without removing the bar.
Babyzen Yoyo Parasol
For sunny destinations, something to get extra shade (and protect them against harmful UV rays) while your baby is in the pram is essential. The official Babyzen Yoyo Parasol is a stylish umbrella that clips onto the stroller, offering adjustable shade to keep your baby cool and shielded from the sun.
However; it is quite small and it does not work well in practice, as you would need to move it all the time, even when you turn on any corner and the sun it is facing from somewhere else. What works best for us, and is much cheaper, is a Universal Canopy Cover/Sun Shade. It provides an additional shade reach
Babyzen Yoyo Cup Holder
Parents know that staying hydrated is important, especially when travelling. The Babyzen Yoyo Cup Holder is a convenient accessory that attaches to the stroller’s handlebar, keeping your drink within easy reach.
However; many cheaper generic holders are sturdy and can accommodate various cup sizes, from water bottles to coffee cups, making it perfect for those long walks and sightseeing tours. Some of them also have space for mobile phones.
Babyzen Yoyo Mosquito Net
Insect protection is crucial, especially when travelling to destinations with a high mosquito population like South America. The Babyzen Yoyo Mosquito Net is designed to fit snugly over the stroller, providing a barrier against mosquitoes and other insects. Made from fine mesh, it ensures proper ventilation while keeping bugs at bay, so your baby can nap or enjoy the scenery without any disturbances.
The official net is not expensive (£25) and in this case, it is super important that it fits perfectly, so many people prefer this option. However; there are still great generic options for half the price. We actually got one in Temu, the new and most popular Chinese super cheap website superseding Aliexpress.
Babyzen Yoyo Footmuff
When travelling to colder climates, the Babyzen Yoyo Footmuff is essential to keep your little one warm and cosy. This plush accessory is lined with soft fleece and has a water-repellent exterior to protect against the elements. The footmuff fits perfectly into the stroller, ensuring that your baby stays snug and comfortable during chilly outings. It also features a convenient zip-off top, allowing you to easily adjust the temperature without disturbing your baby.
There are also generic products that are much cheaper (sometimes half the price or more), fit well and are of the same quality. Bear in mind that you need to think about how cold it is going to be and if you need a thicker one or not. We have this one and it works super well in London’s weather
Babyzen Yoyo Bag
The Babyzen Yoyo Bag is a versatile and practical accessory for travel. This innovative bag attaches to the back of the stroller, providing additional storage space for your belongings. With its easy-to-maneuver wheels, the bag allows you to carry more without the added strain. It’s perfect for carrying baby essentials, souvenirs, or even groceries, making it a valuable addition to your travel gear. The downside of the official bag is that it is designed to be used with the board, so you need additional accessories which also use more space and add weight.
We have this one bought on Temu and it is the best! It was recommended by a friend and it is really lighter and more spacious than the official one, and the price can’t even be compared.
Babyzen Yoyo Rain Cover
Rainy weather can be unpredictable, but with the Babyzen Yoyo Rain Cover, you’ll be prepared for anything. This transparent cover fits perfectly over the stroller, providing full protection against rain while allowing your baby to see the world outside. The rain cover is ventilated, ensuring that your baby stays dry and comfortable even in a downpour. It’s compact and easy to carry.
We bought the official one for the newborn pack, but we preferred a generic one for the regular stroller. In this case, generic versions cover more space, including a bag if you have one.
Babyzen Yoyo Backpack
The Babyzen Yoyo Backpack (Travel Bag) is a must-have for protecting your stroller during flights, road trips, or any form of travel. This durable bag is designed to fit the Yoyo perfectly, providing a snug and secure fit.
It features padded straps for comfortable carrying and an easy-access front pocket for storing essentials. The travel bag not only safeguards your stroller from damage but also keeps it clean and ready for use as soon as you arrive at your destination.
Just bear in mind that this is not required by airlines or airports, it is only for your convenience.
Babyzen Yoyo Car Seat Adapters
Car Seat Adapters can be essential if you are planning to use your car seat on the Yoyo. Not many people do this, or at least I haven’t seen it that much. However; the adapters are light and you can still fold the pram with no issues, so it does not harm to leave them on the pram when you travel.
Don’t forget to check the compatibility, as not all car seats would fit.
Babyzen Yoyo Board
For families with older siblings, the Babyzen Yoyo Board is a fantastic addition. This ride-along board attaches to the back of the stroller, allowing an older child to stand and ride along while you push the stroller. It’s sturdy, easy to attach, and can be lifted out of the way when not in use. The Yoyo Board is perfect for those times when little legs get tired but you still want to explore and enjoy your travels as a family.
However; this is not ideal for travelling as it will add space and weight to your pram.
Additional tips
Avoid Paying for expensive car seats
Car rentals charge between £11 and £25 per day for a car seat. This is very expensive and sometimes you pay almost the same for the seat than for the car itself.
In order to avoid this, it is recommended to check independent websites that rent car seats and many other accessories for babies and toddlers.
For instance, if you go to Mallorca in Spain, this and this websites rent a car seat for €25 a week, plus €10 to deliver and collect it from the airport, which is half (or more) the price of a car rental company.
